The Esthetic Crown Lengthening Procedure at Central Ohio Periodontics

Before starting the procedure, Dr. Sakamoto will use a local anesthetic to numb the area.  Then, he will make small incisions in the gum to separate the gums from the teeth.  Dr. Sakamoto will remove the excess gum tissue around the “gummy” teeth.  Then, he will reshape the smile to expose more of the natural tooth. In most cases, Dr. Sakamoto will perform Esthetic Crown Lengthening on multiple teeth so that the gums and teeth have a natural, beautiful appearance.

The fully-healed result will be a more exposed, healthy smile with room for crowns and fillings if necessary.
